I usually have it with a cup of warm lemon and ginger, or green tea to give my immune system a boost.
The Easy Peasy Breakfast Oats are packed with sufficient Protein to start your day with your blood sugar balanced. It contains approx. 35g of Plant based Protein, which will keep cravings at bay and keep you feeling satisfied for longer.
The fact that it is deliciously creamy without the need for Yoghurt or cream is added bonus.
You can also amend this recipe with different seasonal fruit.
Berries with almonds are my favourite in the summer, or Mango with Cashew Nuts for something more exotic, whereas my kids prefer cashews and cocoa nibs… no surprise there. ;-)
Basic Oat Recipe:
2 Tbsp Porridge Oats
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
1 Tbsp Ground Flax Seeds
Cover with your favourite Nut Milk so that is covered to double the amount.
Let it sit whilst you get ready or if you like me, get the kids breakfast ready.
Add flavour:
1 Apple, Cored and finely chopped or grated
1/2 Banana sliced
1/4 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 Tbsp Sunflower Seeds
1Tbsp Walnuts
1 Tsp Raw Organic Honey
Mix the remaining ingredients into the oat/seed/milk mix. Add a little more Milk if you prefer it more creamy. Voila!
